Our woodland lodges are designed and manufactured in the UK. They're built using renewable and recyclable materials including European grown wood and steel. These materials have a lower carbon footprint than many conventional construction materials. Each lodge is clad in European larch, which silvers over time to blend in to its natural surroundings.
Designed and manufactured to modern building standards, our lodges are well insulated. This helps reduce energy usage, further limiting the carbon emissions produced through use. Electric heating combined with mains gas or LPG options provide flexible options when it comes to heating and hot water.
Each lodge is expertly designed, built and installed. Unlike many parks, our lodges are generously spaced, with plenty of room between each one. This provides more privacy but also helps each lodge blend into the natural surroundings. Our Lodge Development Plan has been developed to work in harmony with the mature woodland in which our lodges are set.
Because of the low environmental impact, and the peaceful atmosphere of the park, Ladycross continues to be a thriving home for wildlife. From deer, badgers and foxes which regularly visit, to birds of prey including owls, Ladycross is a haven for nature.

One of the most impactful things we can do is to limit our use of long-haul flights. Short flights are generally more efficient, but still cause 3 times the emissions of driving. A holiday in the North York Moors can be an extremely low-carbon option, and still offer plenty of excitement for the whole family.
You could further reduce your emissions by travelling to Ladycross on public transport. If travelling by train then Scarborough or Middlesbrough are the best options, followed by a local bus. The Arriva X93 service passes our road end - very convenient!
Once at Ladycross you could choose to spend your time nearby. Make the most of our beautiful surroundings, walking down into the village where you could catch the train into Whitby or towards Middlesbrough.
If driving you'll find plenty to do within a short journey. Whitby is 10 minutes down the road, along with Sandsend with its beach front cafes and sandy shore. The Park & Ride service into Whitby is helpful in the summer, when finding town centre parking can be more difficult.
Cycling is also an option. If you choose to cycle from Egton into Whitby, we'd recommend going via Aislaby. The lane is quieter and safer than the main road. You'll pop out near the Sleights roundabout, and soon find youselves in town. It's a lovely ride on a nice day.
